During a meeting with one of my clients recently, we were in the middle of an online coaching session, discussing her weight loss progress…
And during this live call, she said something (truthfully, a few things) that really stuck with me.
They were so powerful that I felt compelled to share them.
Her First Point
Before joining me and the Rebels Weight Loss Club, this client had been using Weight Watchers.
(And of course, Jenny Craig before that).
She was talking about what she had noticed so far as the biggest difference between her new rebel lifestyle, and those previous diet programs, when she said…
“I feel like your program works for me because it isn’t all about the food.”
It was such a simple thing.
Something that I’m certain I already knew, but having her say it made it crystal clear to me.
See, most weight loss “programs” or diets (that may go by the initals WW, or JC, among others) are only about the food.
I’m not saying that strategy is entirely wrong. It has obviously worked for Marie Osmond…
What I am saying is that, these programs/plans/diets, whatever you want to call ‘em, they don’t show you how to turn it into a lifestyle.
You’re just measuring the food you ingest, EXACTLY.
- learning how to go on vacation (and enjoy yourself)
- how to dine out with friends (and not be crunching numbers with a pen and your napkin)
- just getting a drink or two because you feel like it (and not telling the bartender about the metabolism boosting power of tequila).
It’s only about starving yourself and eating minimal amounts of foods to lose weight.
That’s it. Boom. THE END.
You aren’t being forced to deal with your emotional feelings around food; anxiety, shame, guilt…the emotional connection that drives you to overeat or eat late at night.
Acting out of habit because the experience of eating food in that way filled a void when you felt unloved, lonely, abandoned, or just depressed.
Those diets don’t do that. No diet does.
Here’s a truth that I feel like most people know, but don’t want to really face: anybody can lose weight.
Just stop eating and you will lose weight.
Is that approach particularly healthy? No. Is it as easy as it was for me to type that sentence? HELL NO!
Problem is when it comes back.
Because, the trick is to lose weight in a sustainable way.
A way that fits into the lifestyle that you live on a regular basis. The one that you want to live for the foreseeable future.
Hopefully, it looks like this:
- Enjoying your life on a daily basis…
- Going out with your friends or family (without bringing pre-packaged snacks)
- Taking a vacation (enjoying the food and drinks, without gaining it all back)
- Making it work, losing weight, keeping it off.
Her Second Point
“I feel like all the anxiety I used to have around gaining weight is gone. I know that I don’t have to gain it back anymore.”
Hearing that made me so happy. Because that was her experience with every other diet she had tried in the past.
Anxiety, because in the back of her mind, the weight was going to come back.
But by joining the Rebels Weight Loss Club, she had finally found a way to achieve weight loss that fit her lifestyle, and because of that, it would last.
She doesn’t have to experience anxiety and shame when her daughter asks her out for an ice-cream date.
It’s possible for her to truly enjoy that moment, feel good about it, and stay in weight loss mode.
Finally hitting weight loss goals like fitting into a dress she loves by the end of the month…
All while EATING, without guilt, without gaining weight, and without being “a bad girl” now.
Not to mention teaching her daughter that it’s OK to indulge in ice cream every now and then.
My Rebels Weight Loss Club
This is what life can look like for you.
It’s how life looks like for my clients who took that step.
We dig into your issues around emotional eating issues, so you can discover and understand your triggers…
Allowing you to avoid (or manage, if needs be) episodes of overeating, stress eating, late-night binging, you name it!
You’ll have live meetings online with me (bi-weekly) so we can discuss your progress, understand your feelings about where you’re at, and avoid any roadblocks or frustrations.
Accountability, to yourself and to others, is key.
Which is why I also offer a VIP program, where you’ll get access to weekly online meetings. So you can get the kind of guidance and hand-holding you’ve always wanted.
No more second-guessing, or wondering if that 3-pound weight gain was actually the end of the world.
I’ll be there to help you all along the way…
Because weight loss isn’t about starving yourself.
It’s about the whole story. Transforming the body and the mind. Understanding why you eat how you eat, and what can and will actually work for you, long term.
You can have your favorite foods. There doesn’t have to be these crazy restrictions, timelines, and rules.
Just a new lifestyle: one where you’re equipped with the information and the tools to make the best decisions, overcome hunger or cravings, and finally lose the weight and keep it off.
No more yo-yo diets, negative beliefs, pre-packaged meals, shame or guilt…
Only a brand new lifestyle, your Rebel Lifestyle.
I’d love to see you there.
